Renewable Power Capital (RPC) has inked a significant 10-year renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) with Ardagh Glass Packaging-Europe (AGP-Europe). The agreement covers the entire 161MW capacity of RPC's recently completed Vitberget wind project in Sweden and is slated to commence operations in 2026.
The PPA represents a key milestone in AGP-Europe's sustainability journey, providing a reliable source of renewable energy from RPC. Martin Petersson, CEO of AGP-Europe, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to take this next step on our sustainability journey, securing renewable energy from RPC in a long-term partnership.”
The Vitberget wind project is part of RPC's larger 553MW cluster, comprising four wind farms strategically located in the Kramfors and Solleftea municipalities.
The agreement is expected to cover approximately 40% of AGP-Europe's power load, effectively offsetting the company's Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This move underscores the commitment of both RPC and AGP-Europe to advancing sustainability goals and reducing environmental impact through the adoption of clean, renewable energy sources.
