Reliance Industries has officially declared its intention to invest in renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in Tamil Nadu, India.
Chairman Mukesh Ambani unveiled this commitment on January 7 during an address at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet-2024, as reported by The Economic Times.
Ambani emphasized Reliance's dedication to collaborating closely with the state government to advance sustainable development—a critical measure in addressing the climate crisis and preserving the environment.
The company is allocating a substantial $10 billion (€9.1 billion) in capital expenditures for the ambitious new energy project.
Reliance Industries has also entered into partnerships with original equipment manufacturers to ensure a stable supply of green hydrogen for the initiative.
