In collaboration with heavy lift shipping and offshore transport & installation contractor Van Oord earlier this year, Jumbo Offshore executed the placement of these critical structures for the offshore project. The final transition piece, the 50th in total, underwent the grouting operation last month, marking the completion of the installation scope.
Under a contract with Van Oord, Jumbo Offshore undertook the transportation of 33 transition pieces from the port of Mukran in Germany to the designated site. Their responsibilities extended to comprehensive support throughout the installation process, encompassing grouting, bolting, and completion works.
This milestone was accomplished within a remarkably swift timeframe of three months from the signing of the vessel reservation agreement. Jumbo attributes this efficiency to the established trust and transparent collaboration between its project team and counterparts at Van Oord. Notably, the two entities had previously collaborated on the 385MW Arkona offshore wind farm in Germany.
This achievement underscores the efficacy of strategic partnerships in the offshore wind sector, emphasizing the importance of seamless cooperation and experience-driven collaboration.
