The installation unfolded in two distinct campaigns, utilizing Spliethoff's Brouwersgracht and Jumbo's Fairplayer for optimal efficiency. Van Oord's cable-laying vessel, Nexus, recently wrapped up the installation of the inter-array cables critical for linking the offshore wind turbines and facilitating the transmission of electricity.

Ensuring precision in the process, the trencher Dig-It, a remotely-operated vehicle, skillfully buried the inter-array cables to the required depth. Notably, Dig-It has been tailor-made to navigate the challenging soft soil conditions prevalent in the , showcasing Van Oord's commitment to overcoming environmental challenges.

As the termination and testing activities for the Inter-Array Cables (IAC) are currently underway, they are anticipated to be finalized in the first quarter of 2024. The Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, situated in the German Baltic Sea, approximately 30 kilometres northeast of the island of Rügen, is poised to play a pivotal role in Germany's landscape.
