SeAH Wind Secures Major Contract to Supply Monopiles for Vattenfall’s 2.8GW Norfolk Vanguard Offshore Wind Farm

SeAH Wind has clinched a significant deal to provide all monopiles for Vattenfall's ambitious 2800MW Norfolk Vanguard in the . The agreement, SeAH's largest single contract to date, will see production commence in 2026 at the company's under-construction facility in Teesside, north-east .

Under the terms of the deal, steel production is expected to continue until the end of 2027, sustaining over 750 new jobs, according to SeAH. The monopiles for the Norfolk Vanguard West and Vanguard East projects will be of XXL dimensions, ranging from 10 to 11 meters in diameter, weighing between 1600 and 2250 tonnes each, and measuring between 70 to 95 meters in length.

With this significant order in place, SeAH highlights its ability to plan for the future and expand its business, securing orders from 2025 until the conclusion of 2027. SeAH's CEO, Chris Sunghwal Sohn, expressed gratitude to Vattenfall for their trust and emphasized the positive signal this contract sends about the success of UK-based companies in the offshore wind industry.

Vattenfall's Head of Offshore Wind, Catrin Jung, expressed delight in working with SeAH Wind and highlighted the crucial role projects like Norfolk Vanguard play in advancing towards a low-carbon energy system.

The deal was also praised by Minister for Investment Lord Johnson, who noted the significance of SeAH Wind's increased investment in building a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Teesside, a move set to create up to 750 jobs by 2030 and align with the UK's commitments to energy security and offshore wind expertise.
