Hanersun, a Chinese solar module manufacturer, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Brazilian solar investment platform Solfácil to supply 400MW of its advanced HITOUCH 5N modules. The agreement signifies Hanersun's commitment to bolstering Solfácil's distributed generation operations in Brazil.
Under the terms of the MoU, Hanersun will deliver its state-of-the-art HITOUCH 5N modules to Solfácil. These modules incorporate cutting-edge 182mm half-cut tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) cell technology, boasting an impressive output of 585W and a reported efficiency of 22.65%.
Despite the notable technological advancements, a recent report from Clean Energy Associates (CEA) raises concerns about ribbon cracks in modules with half-cut cell configurations. The report suggests a higher susceptibility to such issues compared to standard cells, emphasizing the importance of ongoing scrutiny in the rapidly evolving solar industry.
The HITOUCH 5N module was introduced by Hanersun last year, coinciding with the company's rebranding from its former name, CSUNPOWER.
Solfácil, a prominent player in the Brazilian solar landscape, specializes in providing financing services for distributed solar projects. The company extends loans to both developers and end users, facilitating the widespread adoption of solar energy. With a track record of collaboration with over 4,250 solar installers and 66,000 customers in Brazil, Solfácil has established itself as a key player in the country's solar market.
