Swedish renewable energy developer OX2 AB announced the successful completion of an 86-MW wind farm in southern Sweden, with the project officially handed over to its owner, Orrön Energy (STO:ORRON).
Situated in the Uppvidinge municipality, the Karskruv site features 20 of Vestas' V150-4.2 MW turbines operating at 4.3 MW. Anticipated to generate 290 GWh of electricity annually, the wind farm is poised to fulfill approximately 15% of the current power demand in Kronoberg county.
Orrön Energy emerged from the restructuring of Lundin Energy AB, which underwent a strategic shift, divesting its oil and gas operations to focus exclusively on renewables.
Having sold the Karskruv project to Lundin in April 2021, OX2 retained responsibility for its construction and will now oversee the technical and commercial aspects of its operations. As of the end of the third quarter, OX2 was actively engaged in developing 1,335 MW of renewable power capacity.
