Pekat Group, a Malaysian solar photovoltaics (PV) installer, has reported a significant development in the clean energy landscape. One of its subsidiary units has entered into green power agreements with five local corporations, enabling these entities to source electricity from an upcoming solar park.
The counterparties involved in these contracts include CTRM Aero Composites Sdn Bhd, HICOM Automotive Manufacturers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, HICOM Diecastings Sdn Bhd, Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd, and PHN Industry Sdn Bhd. These agreements are intricately linked to the establishment of a 30-MW solar project located in the Kinta District within the state of Perak.
The solar project's development is spearheaded by Pekat Solar Tronoh Sdn Bhd (PSTSB), a subsidiary of Pekat Group. PSTSB has made a steadfast commitment to have the solar power plant operational no later than the year 2025. The selection of PSTSB to lead this project was a result of a competitive bidding process conducted under the aegis of the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) administered by the Energy Commission.
This initiative is a testament to Pekat Group's dedication to advancing clean energy solutions in Malaysia, aligning with the nation's goals for sustainable power generation and reducing carbon emissions.
