RWE Energizes 46MW Morgavel Solar Farm, Powering Thousands of Portuguese Homes

RWE has successfully commissioned its impressive 46MWac Morgavel solar farm in the scenic region of Morgavel, Sines, located just south of Lisbon in Portugal. This state-of-the-art solar facility sprawls across a vast expanse of 112 hectares, making it a substantial addition to the country's renewable energy landscape.

The Morgavel solar farm is equipped with a staggering 91,000 bifacial solar modules, a cutting-edge technology that allows these modules to harness solar radiation from both their front and rear sides. This advanced design maximizes energy generation and underscores RWE's commitment to harnessing the sun's power efficiently.

The construction and development of this remarkable solar plant were skillfully executed by Omexom Portugal, demonstrating their expertise in renewable energy infrastructure. Moreover, Construção e Manutenção Eletromecânica (CME) played a pivotal role as the contractor responsible for the substation and grid connection works, ensuring the seamless integration of the Morgavel solar farm into the local power grid.
