Vattenfall and TKF Forge Multi-Year Pact to Power European Offshore Wind

Vattenfall and TKF have inked a multi-year partnership deal designed to revolutionize the supply of array cables for wind farms across .

The agreement, which spans several years, will encompass the provision of 66kV inter-array cables, addressing the demands of all bottom-fixed European wind farms slated for development by Vattenfall in the near future.

This framework contract signifies a significant step towards a consolidated and efficient source agreement, set to be activated without delay. The maiden project to fall under its purview is the formidable German Nordlicht cluster.

Initialing the contract for an initial three-year period, it offers the potential for a five-year extension, signifying a steadfast commitment to their partnership.

A prominent focus on sustainability has been a hallmark of the procurement process, as stated by Vattenfall. TKF has laid out explicit measures geared toward reducing the carbon footprint and bolstering the circularity of materials. This entails the deployment of low-carbon aluminum and recycled copper in the construction of cable conductors.
