(PVH), a Spanish solar tracker provider, has inked a significant 230MW (PV) tracker supply agreement for a solar project in Egypt. The project, developed by Saudi Arabian company in collaboration with Energy Engineering Corporation's (CEEC) subsidiary, Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Company (ZPTC), achieved financial close at the project in August. ACWA Power anticipates project completion in the third quarter of 2024.

This supply agreement marks PV Hardware's continued expansion in Egypt, where it previously supplied trackers for the massive 1.8GW Benban solar PV project, which has been operational since 2019. The Spanish tracker provider has established a robust presence in the Middle East and North African region and opened a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia last year, boasting an annual PV tracker capacity of 8GW.

The collaboration between PVH and CEEC in Egypt is not their first joint endeavor. Earlier this year, they signed a supply agreement for 1.7GW of PV trackers for a 2.06GW project in Saudi Arabia.

Egypt, host of the COP27 conference last year, is actively accelerating its investments in green hydrogen, positioning itself as a major player in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This strategic move is supported by the country's favorable combination of solar and wind resources.

Alvaro Casado, Global Commercial Director at PVH, expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its importance in strengthening the company's portfolio in Egypt. He also acknowledged the collaboration with partners CEEC-ZTPC and ACWA Power, citing their unwavering support throughout the project's execution and planning.
