developer has finalized its $556 million of a 416MW solar portfolio in , solidifying its standing as one of the largest producers of clean energy in the country. The deal involves the purchase of Arcadia Generacion Solar, a company which owns four operational solar plants.

First announced in July 2023, the transaction recently received the green light from Chile's antitrust authority, Fiscalía Nacional Económica, paving the way for its completion.

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our long-term strategy for growth in the Chilean market,” said a Sonnedix spokesperson. “With this deal, we're not only increasing our renewable energy footprint but also contributing to the national goals of reducing carbon emissions.”

The portfolio includes four solar plants situated in northern Chile's Atacama and Antofagasta regions: the 36MW Diego de Almagro, the 97MW Carrera Pinto, the 79MW Pampa Solar Norte, and the 204MW Domeyko. Collectively, these facilities generate an estimated one terawatt-hour of clean energy every year.

“This deal sets a strong precedent for the renewable energy sector in Chile and beyond,” said an analyst from a leading energy consultancy firm. “It exemplifies the growing commitment to renewable energy investments in a region that is increasingly seen as a hotbed for solar development.”
