has inked a pivotal deal with Seaway7, marking a significant step in the development of the 1400MW East Anglia 3 offshore off the coast of England. ScottishPower Renewables spearheads this transformative venture.

Under the terms of the contract, Hellenic Cables will take on the crucial responsibilities of engineering, manufacturing, testing, and supplying approximately 275 kilometers of 66kV three-core inter-array submarine wires. The contract also includes the supply of associated accessories. The production process is scheduled to commence in 2024 at Hellenic Cables' state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Corinth, Greece.

Geoff Norris, Seaway 7's project director, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating, “We are pleased to have awarded the contract to Hellenic Cables for the East Anglia 3 project. We look forward to working with them once again, building on our long-established relationship, following the success of our most recent collaboration on another large offshore wind farm within the UK.”

Konstantinos Savvakis, the plant director at Hellenic Cables, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We are excited to have been awarded the supply contract from Seaway7 for the East Anglia 3 project and support the expansion of renewable energy in the UK. Hellenic Cables is committed to providing reliable and sustainable cable solutions that transmit clean energy, and we are proud to be part of this important project.”

Situated approximately 69 kilometers northeast of the Suffolk coast, East Anglia 3 boasts an installed power capacity of 1400MW, a feat that will generate enough green electricity to power the equivalent of more than one million homes. Once operational in 2026, it will stake its claim as the world's second-largest offshore wind farm.
