and recently inked a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). As part of this agreement, COWI Denmark is backing a newly constructed park near Hoby in Lolland Municipality. This solar installation has a capacity of 70MWh and is now connected to the electrical grid.

The solar facility will generate an amount of equivalent to the needs of an estimated 43,000 residents of Denmark. This isn't the first time the two companies have joined forces; they have a history of collaborating on sections of Better Energy's solar initiatives.

Natalie Shaverdian Riise-Knudsen, Group Chief Financial Officer at COWI, emphasized that the company's core principles are deeply rooted in sustainability. She stated that COWI feels a unique obligation to hasten the shift to green energy due to its extensive know-how in the sector. To underline this commitment, COWI has consciously opted out of projects related to fossil fuel extraction.

On the other side, Mikkel Thorup, Director of PPAs at Better Energy, welcomed COWI into their growing list of partners and expressed his satisfaction over COWI's participation in the new solar park. Thorup stressed that a PPA is not merely a step toward sustainable operations for a company, but also a tangible contribution to the wider transition to renewable energy sources.

The new PPA and solar park are seen as crucial elements in accelerating the green transition, not just for the companies involved but for Denmark as a whole.
