DP Energy has successfully obtained Development Approval for its ambitious 430MW Callide onshore wind farm in Australia. The authorization comes from the State Assessment Referral Agency and paves the way for the project's construction.
Situated in the Calliope Range within the jurisdiction of the Banana Shire Council, the wind farm will be strategically located about 22km to the north-northeast of Biloela and 75km to the west-southwest of Gladstone.
With a history spanning over three decades, DP Energy is no stranger to renewable energy projects. The company has an impressive track record of more than 1GW of completed renewable energy installations in various countries including Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the UK. Additionally, DP Energy boasts an extensive project pipeline that exceeds 9GW.
Among its key undertakings in Australia, DP Energy is responsible for the already operational 320MW Port Augusta Renewable Energy Park in South Australia and is also spearheading the Euston Wind Farm venture in New South Wales.
Hugh Cantwell, DP Energy Australia's Head of Projects, celebrated the new development. “This approval is a pivotal moment in the project's evolution,” he remarked. “The DP Energy Australia team is eager to advance to the subsequent phases of the project, ever focused on our mission to create a more sustainable future for Queensland.”
The Callide wind farm represents another significant milestone for DP Energy in its ongoing commitment to drive renewable energy projects across the globe.
