Specialist Marine Consultants Secures Multi-Year Contracts for Ørsted Offshore Wind Inspections

Specialist Marine Consultants (), a UK-based company, has been awarded two significant contracts by Ørsted, the global leader in offshore , to provide structural inspections above water (SIAW) services throughout Ørsted's extensive offshore wind portfolio. These contracts, extending until 2026, mark a continuation of SMC's successful partnership with Ørsted, which commenced in 2018.

Under the terms of the SIAW contracts, SMC will be responsible for conducting inspection and maintenance work in external, internal, and confined space areas of foundations, transition pieces, and substations. The first contract pertains to Ørsted's UK and Netherlands wind farm portfolio, comprising twelve operational wind farms in the UK, three under development, and the operational Borssele 1 & 2 sites in the Netherlands.

The second contract focuses on Ørsted's operations in , where four wind farms are already in operation, and two more are currently under construction.

Last year, Ørsted, in conjunction with , awarded SMC a contract for statutory inspection and auxiliary services across its UK sites.

Ørsted, a key player in the sector, boasts 8.9 GW of installed offshore wind capacity and holds a robust vision to install a total of 50 GW of renewable energy from various technologies by the year 2030.
