Emeren Group Completes Grid Connection for Debut Solar Storage Project in China

, the solar project developer, has announced the successful grid connection of its inaugural solar storage project, located in Ningbo, Province, . The achievement is a significant milestone for the company as it expands its presence in China's burgeoning sector.

This solar storage project boasts an impressive capacity of 1.2 megawatt-hours (MWh) and operates under the backing of a private long-term (PPA) with a local off-taker.

China is witnessing a remarkable surge in renewable energy investments, and according to a recent note by energy research firm Rystad Energy, the nation's installed solar capacity is poised to double to an astounding 1,000 gigawatts (GW) by the end of 2026. This ambitious expansion underscores China's commitment to embracing renewable energy sources.

Yumin Liu, CEO of Emeren Group, expressed the company's ambitions in the Chinese market, stating, “We currently have a portfolio of projects in the planning and execution phases in China, including several commercial and industrial (C&I) sized storage projects that are currently under construction.” The Emeren Group is actively engaged in furthering its footprint in China by developing a range of projects, including commercial and industrial-scale storage ventures.
