The United States Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has successfully wrapped up its comprehensive environmental review of the proposed Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) commercial project. This significant undertaking is being spearheaded by Dominion Energy and is strategically positioned offshore Virginia Beach, Virginia, with the potential to deliver a substantial 2.6 gigawatts (GW) of clean and dependable offshore wind energy.
A Notice of Availability concerning the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Dominion Energy's proposed CVOW project is slated to be published in the Federal Register on September 29, 2023. The final EIS rigorously assesses the potential environmental consequences associated with the activities outlined in the Construction and Operations Plan. This plan encompasses the installation of up to 202 wind turbine generators, along with the corresponding offshore and onshore export cables.
