, a subsidiary of leading Chinese solar manufacturer TrinaSolar, has inked a significant supply agreement with the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) for the 108MW Tepuy solar PV park located in . This collaborative deal underscores the growing prominence of solar energy in the South American region.

Under this agreement, TrinaTracker will supply its advanced Vanguard 1P trackers to the Tepuy solar project, in addition to software algorithm products and the Trina Smart Cloud platform for efficient project monitoring.

The Tepuy Solar project is being developed by the Medellin Electric Power Company, a Colombian electricity supplier, while PowerChina, a state-owned enterprise specializing in civil engineering and energy, will manage the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts.

TrinaTracker's decision to provide tracking technology for this project aligns with the flourishing solar market in , which boasts an impressive 80% market penetration, significantly exceeding the global average of 45%. To bolster its presence in the region, TrinaTracker recently inaugurated a 2.5GW tracker manufacturing facility in Brazil, demonstrating its commitment to pursuing new solar ventures in South America.

This development follows the announcement of a partnership between US developer Atlas Renewables and Colombian to construct a massive 1GW PV project in Colombia. Furthermore, the Colombian government unveiled plans earlier this year to transform a 290MW generation plant into a solar-plus-storage facility, emphasizing the nation's commitment to renewable energy.
