Enshore Subsea Secures $200 Million Cable Contract for Senegal Power Project

energy solutions provider Enshore Subsea has successfully secured a $200 million contract for works as part of the Power Compact project. This ambitious program, jointly financed by the US-based Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Senegalese government, aims to revolutionize Senegal's power and provide sustainable to millions of people.

Scheduled to commence in October 2023 and expected to run until the third quarter of 2025, the offshore works will be managed through a strategic Joint Venture between Enshore Subsea and Belgian hydraulic engineering company Herbosch Kiere. This partnership will oversee the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract, encompassing both land and submarine works for two 17.5km 220kV links connecting Bel Air in Dakar to Cap des Biches.

The integrated Joint Venture will be structured to ensure equal responsibility-sharing, with both Enshore Subsea and Herbosch Kiere taking on 50% of the project's responsibilities.

Enshore Subsea's Managing Director, Pierre Boyde, expressed their honor at being selected as a key partner for the Senegal Power Compact Program, emphasizing that this initiative aligns seamlessly with their commitment to providing sustainable energy solutions.

Furthermore, Enshore Subsea and Herbosch Kiere have highlighted their dedication to local capacity building and skills development as integral components of their approach. They aim to collaborate closely with local talents, businesses, and authorities to create a lasting positive impact on the community.

This partnership signifies a significant step towards achieving the goals of the Senegal Power Compact project and advancing the accessibility of reliable electricity in Senegal.
