Poland’s Solar Photovoltaic Capacity Set to Soar to 27GW by 2025

is on track to achieve remarkable progress in its solar (PV) sector, with a projected total installed capacity of nearly 27GW by 2025. This promising forecast comes from the eleventh edition report on the country's PV market, published by the Institute for Renewable Energy (IEO).

According to the report, Poland is expected to install an additional 14.4GW of solar PV capacity between 2022 and 2025, reflecting an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21%. The country has already surpassed expectations, as the installed capacity has already reached 12.4GW, experiencing a remarkable growth rate of 61% since 2021, when it stood at 7.7GW.

In light of these encouraging results, Minister Ireneusz Zyska, the Government Plenipotentiary for RES, expressed their aspirations to position Poland as a leading force in photovoltaic development within Europe in the years to come. Minister Zyska emphasized that the focus extends beyond mere capacity expansion, highlighting the importance of establishing a robust photovoltaic industry based on innovative Polish technologies. Such an industry would not only meet domestic demand but also secure a solid customer base in foreign markets.

During the press conference, representatives from various organizations involved in the report, including BayWa r.e., , EDP, mBank, , , OX2, and Polenergia Fotowoltaika, convened for a discussion panel. They collectively summarized the report's findings, underscoring the immense potential and opportunities that lie ahead for Poland's solar PV sector.

As Poland continues to make significant strides in solar PV deployment, it is poised to contribute substantially to the country's renewable energy goals and pave the way for a greener and more sustainable future. With a concerted focus on innovation and industry development, Poland is set to carve out a prominent position in Europe's evolving photovoltaic landscape.
