Three workers have died following a fire at an onshore wind farm in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, according to local media reports.
The Chosun Daily reported that the incident took place while the workers were inside a wind turbine carrying out an inspection. The newspaper cited information from the North Gyeongsang Fire Headquarters indicating that the workers had been examining cracks in a turbine blade when the fire broke out.
The incident occurred at the Yeongdeok Wind Farm, which had reportedly been offline since last month following the collapse of one of its turbines.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the fire, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
