General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) is planning a geothermal resource exploration in the Adana Province of Türkiye. The exploration will be carried out under the AR:18 License, which encompasses an expansive area of 4,983.5 hectares.
As part of this ambitious project, the MTA intends to drill a well in the Kuzgun Village of Karaisali District in Adana Province. The estimated cost for this endeavor is around 10 million TL (approximately USD 503,000). The proposed Salbas-1 borehole, to be drilled on privately owned land, is expected to reach a depth of 2,000 meters.

If the geothermal fluid data sought after is obtained, the MTA General Directorate will transfer the registered license through a competitive tender process in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. During the operational phase, all necessary permits will be obtained by the individuals or private entities responsible for the site.
