Volt Underwriting has partnered with insurtech firm Novee to deploy an artificial intelligence intelligence layer across its power and renewables underwriting portfolio.
The collaboration is intended to help underwriters manage complex insurance submissions that often include engineering surveys, historical loss reports and extensive schedules of insured assets.
Novee’s platform is designed to process these datasets by semi-automatically cleansing schedules, structuring exposure information and extracting insights from supporting documentation. The structured data can then be integrated into catastrophe modelling and pricing systems used during the underwriting process.
By automating data preparation tasks, the companies aim to reduce manual workloads for underwriters and improve efficiency in evaluating energy and renewable infrastructure risks.
Volt’s underwriting team will also receive analytical insights generated from engineering assessments and past loss data to support risk evaluation and pricing decisions.
According to the companies, Novee’s system functions as an intelligence layer that integrates with existing underwriting workflows, allowing insurers and managing general agents to structure complex submission data without replacing core systems.
The partnership reflects increasing use of artificial intelligence technologies within the specialty insurance market, particularly in sectors such as power generation and renewable energy where underwriting involves large and highly technical datasets.
