CNOOD-Wenchong Heavy Industries (CWHI) has delivered all 32 XXL monopiles for the Inch Cape offshore wind project on schedule and within budget, the company said.
The final eight units were shipped from the company’s Qinzhou yard in December 2025 aboard the COSCO vessel Xiang Taikou and have since been offloaded at the Port of Leith.
CWHI said the milestone concludes a multi-month fabrication and logistics programme carried out under strict quality and safety standards.
“Finalising all monopile deliveries for Inch Cape is a significant achievement for our team,” said Dale Young, chief development officer of CWHI.
“It reflects the dedication of our Qinzhou yard teams, the reliability of our partners, and our shared focus on schedule certainty, quality, and safe execution in support of Scotland’s offshore wind ambitions.”
Each monopile measures up to 11.5 metres in diameter, up to 103 metres in length and weighs as much as 2,300 tonnes, the company said, adding that the structures are designed to withstand demanding offshore installation conditions.
The Inch Cape wind farm, located off the Angus coast, is expected to make a significant contribution to the UK’s renewable energy capacity once operational.
