Ampyr Solar Europe has completed the acquisition of the fully consented 530-megawatt East Yorkshire Solar Farm from Boom Power, the companies said.
Plans for the project, located near Howden in East Yorkshire, received approval from the UK government in May 2025. The solar array is scheduled to connect to the National Grid substation at Drax power station near Selby from 2029.
The transaction expands Ampyr Solar Europe’s development pipeline to about 2.5 GW in the UK and 7 GW across the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.
Chief executive Tarun Agrawal said the deal supports the company’s growth strategy in Britain. “We’re delighted to advance our strategic growth in the UK market with the acquisition of the EYSF project,” he said.
“This project is the largest in our growing PV/BESS portfolio and aligns with our mission to deliver high impact renewable energy assets that support local communities, enhance energy security and contribute to national decarbonisation objectives,” Agrawal added.
Boom Power founder Mark Hogan said the scheme represents a major milestone for the developer. “EYSF is a flagship project for us and reflects years of detailed development work, collaboration and engagement with our valued landowners and partners,” he said.
“Securing consent was a major achievement and we are proud to have brought the project to this stage. ASE is well placed to take EYSF forward into delivery and we look forward to seeing the project make a meaningful contribution to the UK’s clean energy transition,” Hogan added.
