ABO Energy has secured tariffs for three solar parks totalling about 50MW in the latest tender run by Germany’s Federal Network Agency.
The company said it has now been successful in all three solar auction rounds held in 2025, having previously won contracts for five projects totalling around 57MW.
Tariffs were awarded to projects at Schlangenbad, Ober-Olm and Schieder-Schwalenberg, with construction scheduled to begin in autumn 2026.
All three plants will be equipped with battery storage systems in the following year, the developer said.
The projects form part of a broader eight-site hybrid portfolio combining 100MWp of solar PV with around 80MW of battery energy storage. ABO Energy added that talks with potential investors are under way, while construction on three projects in the wider portfolio has already started or is about to begin.
Amaya Hilpert, head of solar and BESS project development Germany, said: “All projects will be implemented with battery storage – an important component for feeding renewable electricity into the power grids at different times, and optimising the economic viability of the projects.”
She added that the portfolio also includes grey power storage facilities with 45MW of capacity.
According to the company, the latest tender was heavily oversubscribed, attracting 5,247MW of bids against a procurement volume of 2,328MW and clearing at an average award price of €0.05/kWh.
