MET Group has commissioned its 10MWp Caltignaga solar plant in Italy, further expanding its renewable footprint in the country.
The agrivoltaic (Agri-PV) project is expected to generate around 15GWh of electricity annually. Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work was carried out by CMC Europe Italy, the company said.
The Caltignaga facility becomes MET’s second operating solar site in Italy following the 10MWp Ferrera Erbognone project, which entered service in October 2025.
Both plants sell power through a mix of corporate power purchase agreements, Italy’s GSE support scheme and MET Energia Italia as offtakers.
MET’s Green Assets Division is investing across solar, wind and battery energy storage, with 445MW of solar and onshore wind already in operation across Europe and a wider development pipeline in Italy.
The Caltignaga and Ferrera Erbognone projects are designed to combine renewable power generation with continued agricultural use of the land.
The assets are owned by Keppel MET Renewables, a 50-50 joint venture between Keppel’s Infrastructure Division and MET Group.
Clive Turton, executive chairman of MET Group’s Green Assets Division, said: “The commissioning of the Caltignaga solar park is an important milestone in strengthening our presence in Italy, and a key step in our strategy to grow in Western Europe.
“We aim to become a major player in the European renewables industry and significantly contribute to the success of the energy transition.
