CWP Europe has commissioned the 174MWdc Studina solar project in Romania after the facility reached its commercial operation date.
The company said the plant is expected to generate around 245,000MWh of electricity a year, enough to power approximately 122,500 households and avoid about 220,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
CWP Europe has also secured a building permit for a co-located battery energy storage system, with construction planned as the next phase of development.
The Studina project was delivered in collaboration with Siemens Energy, Solarpro and Eximprod, and forms part of CWP Europe’s broader strategy to accelerate the energy transition across southeast Europe.
Alex Sekulovic, chief financial officer and chief operating officer at CWP Europe, highlighted the role of the company’s construction team in delivering the project.
“CWP’s construction team played a key role in the successful delivery of the Studina project, demonstrating strong coordination and disciplined execution throughout the most demanding phases of construction,” he said.
Sekulovic added that close collaboration with EPC partners Solarpro and Eximprod ensured high quality standards, timely delivery and full compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements, with zero accidents recorded during construction.
Viktor Garbev, executive vice president at CWP Europe, said the project underlines the company’s ability to deliver large-scale assets in complex markets.
“Enabled by our local teams, this project demonstrates our ability to acquire sites, form strong partnerships, add value through optimised permitting, and deliver real assets at scale in complex technical and regulatory environments,” Garbev said.
