Nuveen Infrastructure, the parent company of Partners, has recently become a member of SolarPower Europe, a prominent trade association. By joining this esteemed organization, Nuveen aligns itself with more than 280 entities involved in the European supply chain. Together, they strive to establish a unified voice within the industry, shaping policies and influencing the 's overall environment.

Nuveen's decision to join SolarPower Europe follows a series of notable investments in Europe, including the acquisition of a 65MW solar (PV) portfolio in earlier this year. Additionally, Nuveen's independent power producer (IPP), BNZ, has experienced significant success, managing over 1.7GW of power across Southern Europe. Currently, BNZ has more than 200MW of solar PV projects actively under construction.

Expressing his views on the matter, Joost Bergsma, Chief Executive and Managing Partner at Glennmont Partners from Nuveen, stated, “We have been investing substantially in European solar for over 15 years, and our membership in SolarPower Europe underscores the pivotal role that solar energy will play in the future. Nuveen Infrastructure recognizes the immense potential of solar PV as a cost-effective, versatile, job-creating, and environmentally friendly energy source, particularly as Europe intensifies its investments in the energy transition.”

Bergsma further emphasized the importance of maintaining supply chain integrity as solar power continues to expand in Europe. Nuveen Infrastructure is committed to upholding a robust set of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) best practices, as outlined by SolarPower Europe's steward initiative. This commitment reflects Nuveen's dedication to promoting sustainable and responsible solar energy development in Europe.
