GE Vernova has signed an agreement to supply wind turbines for the 256-megawatt Carmody’s Hill wind farm in South Australia, expanding its partnership with renewable energy developer Aula Energy.
Under the deal, GE Vernova will provide 42 onshore wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.1 megawatts and a hub height of 158 metres. The agreement also covers turbine installation and a five-year full-service operations and maintenance contract, the company said.
The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2025 and follows a previous contract between the two companies for Aula Energy’s Boulder Creek Wind Farm in Queensland, according to GE Vernova.
Carmody’s Hill wind farm is located about 7 kilometres east of Georgetown in South Australia’s Mid-North region. Grid approval for the project was secured nine months after the application was submitted.
“We are delighted to build on our successful collaboration with Aula Energy to bring another high-quality wind project to Australia,” said Gilan Sabatier, chief commercial officer for GE Vernova’s onshore wind business in international markets.
Sabatier said the deployment of the company’s 6-megawatt-class turbine platform at scale can help simplify contracting, speed up grid approvals and improve reliability across wind fleets.
Aula Energy chief executive Chad Hymas said the company welcomed the renewed partnership. “We’re pleased to be partnering once again with GE Vernova to deliver Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm,” he said.
GE Vernova said its 6-megawatt-class platform has contributed to shorter contract negotiations and faster grid approval processes across several Australian states.
