Vestas will expand its blade factory in Goleniów, Poland, by adding a second production line dedicated to the V172 EnVentus turbine, the company said. The expansion will double output at the site and require more than 300 new hires.
The Danish manufacturer took over the facility from LM Wind Power in September 2025 as part of a broader effort to increase its European manufacturing capacity. Once fully ramped up, the plant is expected to employ about 700 people, lifting Vestasā total workforce in Poland to roughly 2,300.
Kenneth Kaser, Vestasā head of blade manufacturing, said the investment supports both regional supply chain growth and Europeās wider energy transition. āWe are pleased to further strengthen our European manufacturing footprint and workforce to help meet Europeās need for secure, affordable, and sustainable energy,ā he said. Kaser added: āWe see strong potential in Polandās and neighbouring markets and remain committed to investing in local manufacturing and suppliers to support the regionās energy ambitions and creating meaningful jobs in the local community.ā
Vestas said the expansion would also stimulate local construction activity and create more opportunities for component and service suppliers. The company noted it spent more than ā¬300 million in Poland last year. It also operates an assembly facility in Szczecin producing hubs and nacelles for the V236-15.0 MW offshore turbine.
Citing sector data, Vestas said WindEurope estimates that the European wind supply chain is currently investing more than ā¬14 billion in new or expanded factories across the region.
