OX2 has acquired three onshore wind projects in Romania with a combined capacity of 235 megawatts from local developer Future Power, the company said.
The schemes are located in Vaslui and Vrancea counties and are expected to be commissioned between 2028 and 2030, subject to permitting. With the acquisition, OX2 said its Romanian portfolio now exceeds 1.1 gigawatts.
The company added that it is advancing additional wind projects in Constanța, Brăila and Galați counties as it expands its presence in the country’s renewables market.
Lăcrămioara Diaconu-Pințea, vice president and country manager of OX2 Romania, said the purchase aligns with the firm’s long-term strategy. “The transaction with Future Power marks another step forward in OX2’s business development strategy in Romania,” she said. “We continue to grow by developing solid, bankable projects with clear commissioning timelines, which will attract new investors to Romania.”
OX2’s Romanian portfolio includes nine onshore wind projects totalling 195 MW currently under construction and 766 MW in development, in addition to 150 MW of solar and battery energy storage projects. The company said it completed transactions with Nala Renewables for 99 MW and HELLENiQ Renewables for 96 MW in 2024 and 2025.
