Nordex has secured a 77-MW turbine order for the Schneifelhöhe wind farm in Germany’s Rhineland-Palatinate region, the company said on Monday.
The contract was placed by Energieversorgung Mittelrhein, Stadtwerke Karlsruhe and Thüga Erneuerbare Energien. Nordex said it will deliver and install 11 N163/6.X turbines and provide a 20-year full-service agreement. “Nordex said it will supply and install 11 N163/6.X machines and deliver a 20-year full-service contract,” the company noted.
The project is located on the forested Schneifel ridge in the Bitburg-Prüm district, where the Delta4000-series turbines are designed to harness strong wind conditions at elevations between 630 and 670 metres, Nordex added.
Construction began in October 2025, with commissioning expected in the second half of 2027.
Felipe Villalon Waldburg-Zeil, director for the central sales region at Nordex, said the company welcomed the opportunity to strengthen regional energy supply. “We are very pleased to be making another important contribution to the energy transition in Rhineland-Palatinate with this project and to sustainably strengthen the region’s security of energy supply,” he said. He added: “Our state-of-the-art Delta4000 turbines, specially designed for the region’s wind conditions, will be used.”
Nordex said the configuration offers advanced technology and long-term reliability to support local clean-power delivery.
