Swedish renewable energy developer OX2 has completed the handover of the 145-megawatt (MW) Niinimäki wind farm in Finland to its new owners, Helen Ltd and the Bank of Åland’s Wind Power Fund, the company said on Monday.
The wind farm, located in northern Finland, consists of 22 turbines and is expected to generate approximately 400 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually — enough to power around 80,000 households.
OX2 will retain responsibility for the technical and commercial management of the site, overseeing daily operations, maintenance coordination, and production optimisation.
“OX2 will continue to manage the site, providing technical and commercial services to optimise production and ensure safe operation,” the company said in a statement.
The project adds to Finland’s growing renewable energy capacity as the country targets climate neutrality by 2035.
OX2 said it currently has nine wind and solar projects under construction across five markets, with a combined capacity of 1.5 gigawatts (GW). The company is active in several European countries and is expanding its footprint in onshore and offshore wind, solar power, and energy storage.
