UK-based consultancy CoralPoint has appointed Eric Briar as chair of the board and Sebastian Chivers as strategic advisor and board member, in a move aimed at supporting its long-term growth across sectors and international markets.
The company said the new leadership appointments reflect its ambitions to expand its presence in both established and emerging segments of the professional services and energy consulting industry.
Briar brings more than 40 years of experience to the role, having held senior positions at Sealion Shipping, SeaRoc, Manor Renewables, and most recently at OEG Energy Group, where he oversaw OEG Renewables’ growth strategy through a series of acquisitions.
Chivers, who joins as a strategic advisor and board member, has over two decades of experience in renewable energy and sustainability consulting. He previously co-led the renewables practice at Environmental Resources Management (ERM) and was the founder of The Renewables Consulting Group.
“Their collective experience and track record in building outstanding businesses in the professional services industry will greatly strengthen our leadership team and help us to accelerate our ambitions for growth,” CoralPoint managing partner Emilie Reeve said in a statement.
Briar said he was pleased to join the firm “at these very exciting times for the business,” while Chivers noted the company’s position in the energy transition space, saying CoralPoint provides “the right blend of strategic and technical expertise.”
Both appointments were made in August and September, respectively. They are based at the company’s headquarters in Basingstoke, southern England.
