KP Group announced a strategic partnership with South Korea’s AHES Co. Ltd. and India’s GH2 Solar Ltd. to establish a green ammonia production facility in India, with an expected annual output of 100,000 metric tons. The move aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and KP Group’s broader efforts to expand green energy solutions and support industrial decarbonization.
The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding by KPI Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Private Limited (KPI GH), a KP Group subsidiary, assigns KPI GH to develop and operate the facility, while AHES and GH2 will provide technical and strategic support, including arranging offtake agreements for international markets such as South Korea and Japan. AHES will also act as a primary offtaker.
Dr. Faruk Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, said, “This partnership exemplifies KP Group’s vision to lead clean energy innovation in India and abroad. With KPI GH operating the facility and strategic support from AHES and GH2, we are setting new benchmarks in green ammonia production and international collaboration.”
The facility will leverage renewable energy and infrastructure from KP Group companies, including KPI Green Energy Limited, K.P. Energy Limited, and KP Green Engineering Limited, ensuring sustainable feedstock for ammonia production. AHES brings expertise in hydrogen electrolyzers, compressed hydrogen storage, and integrated Power-to-Gas solutions, while GH2 contributes local market knowledge and project execution capabilities.
Under the 15-year collaboration framework, the partnership will focus on producing and supplying 100,000 tons per annum of green ammonia, with pricing linked to international benchmarks, supporting global low-carbon industrial demand. The initiative reinforces KP Group’s commitment to sustainability and strengthens India’s clean energy transition.
