China-based Envision Energy has entered into a partnership with Turkish renewables developer Yildizlar Group to develop a 232-megawatt wind power project in Karaman, central Turkey.
The agreement, announced during the Turkish Wind Energy Congress (TWEC), marks Envision Energy’s first wind project in the country and represents a strategic step in expanding its global footprint.
“Turkey plays a pivotal role in the global energy landscape with its strategic position as a bridge between Eastern Europe and Central Asia,” said Kane Xu, senior vice president and president of international product lines at Envision Energy. “Our partnership with Yildizlar is not only a breakthrough in a new market, but also a key step in executing Envision’s global strategy.”
Yildizlar Group, one of Turkey’s largest wind and storage project developers, said the collaboration reflects its commitment to supporting the country’s energy transition.
“Envision Energy has demonstrated exceptional reliability and vision, making them a truly valuable partner for Turkey,” said Mufit Eren, chairman of Yildizlar Group. “This milestone is not only a business success, but also a reflection of our shared responsibility to strengthen Turkey’s energy independence and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
The Turkish Wind Energy Association estimates the country has a wind power potential of 30GW by 2035. As of May 2025, installed wind capacity stood at over 13GW, meeting more than 11% of national electricity demand.
