Technology company Lautec has secured a contract to supply software and IT support for the 1.1 gigawatt Inch Cape offshore wind farm, located off the coast of Angus, Scotland.
Under the agreement, Lautec will deliver its software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, including Daily Progress Reporting (DPR), WindGIS, and Analytics modules. These tools are designed to provide real-time data visualisation and monitoring during the project’s construction phase.
According to the company, the platform will offer a centralised overview of construction progress and help streamline decision-making by turning complex data into actionable information.
“Our SaaS platform will make the project teams’ daily work easier, giving them the tools they need to quickly and accurately collect, analyse, and act on important project data throughout the construction phase,” said Henrik Iversen, managing partner and head of IT at Lautec.
Lautec will also provide ongoing IT support throughout the duration of the project.
The Inch Cape wind farm is being developed by a joint venture between Red Rock Power and ESB. Once operational, it will comprise 72 turbines located approximately 15 kilometres off Scotland’s east coast.
Scheduled for completion in 2027, the wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 1.4 million homes, making it one of the largest offshore wind projects in the country and a significant contributor to Scotland’s renewable energy targets.
