FairWind Awarded Turnkey Pre-Assembly Contract for Vesterhav Nord and Syd Offshore Wind Farms in Denmark

FairWind, a leading company, has secured a turnkey pre-assembly contract for the Vesterhav Nord and Syd offshore wind farms, which will be situated at the Port of in .

As part of the agreement, FairWind will be responsible for the pre-assembly erection of 41 wind turbines manufactured by Siemens Gamesa, specifically the SG 8.0-167 DD model. Each direct drive (DD) will have an impressive power generating capacity of 8.4 MW.

FairWind is set to commence work on this project within this month, and the company aims to have the wind farm fully operational by the end of 2023, according to their official statement.

Furthermore, Bladt Industries, a renowned manufacturing company, has successfully completed the production of 41 transition pieces (TP) for the Vesterhav project. This accomplishment was achieved under a contract signed with Vattenfall in 2021. The transition pieces are notable for their dimensions, with a height of 22.5 meters and weighing approximately 260 tonnes.

To support the installation process, DEME Group and their jack-up vessel Innovation will be responsible for installing the monopiles. These monopiles are manufactured by EEW in Rostock, .

The Vesterhav Nord & Syd offshore wind farms are strategically located approximately 10 kilometers off the west coast of Jutland, near the regions of Thyborøn (Nord) and Søndervig (Syd).

Once completed, this ambitious project will have a combined capacity of 344 MW, generating sufficient electricity to power around 350,000 Danish households. The Vesterhav Nord and Syd offshore wind farms will significantly contribute to Denmark's renewable energy goals and provide a sustainable source of electricity for the country.
