Flender has appointed Tommy Rahbek Nielsen as president of its Winergy wind business segment, effective 1 September 2025, the company said on Thursday.
Rahbek Nielsen, who previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas, will take over from Aarnout Kant. Kant will remain with Flender in a new capacity, focusing on strategic global projects and continuing as general manager for the Americas, reporting directly to the group chief executive.
Flender, a global manufacturer of mechanical and electrical drive systems, said Rahbek Nielsen brings “extensive international experience” in leadership, supply chain and financial strategy. During his time at Vestas, he was credited with helping integrate the company’s offshore wind operations and shaping global manufacturing strategies.
“We are glad to now have him on board,” said Flender group chief executive Andreas Evertz. “His extensive expertise in the wind energy sector will be invaluable as we continue to expand our business segment Wind and refine our strategic direction.”
In his new role, Rahbek Nielsen will lead efforts to strengthen Winergy’s market position and further develop its global partnerships in the wind energy sector.
“Together with the global team, we will uphold and extend our market position and continue to be the partner of choice for our customers,” Rahbek Nielsen said. “A special thanks to my predecessor Aarnout Kant who has set the sails in the right direction and is handing over an excellent business.”
Kant expressed confidence in the leadership transition, stating that Rahbek Nielsen is well-positioned to guide the next phase of Winergy’s development.
Flender, which operates under the Winergy brand in the wind power market, supplies gearboxes, generators and couplings to the global wind industry.
