Renewable energy services firm Galetech Operations has been awarded new contracts to provide full-scope operation and maintenance (O&M) services for three utility-scale wind farms located in Ireland and the United Kingdom, the company said on Tuesday.
In Ireland, the Cavan-headquartered company will support two Statkraft-owned wind farms—Milane Hill in County Cork and Beenageeha in County Kerry—under new O&M agreements. These sites have a combined capacity of 10 megawatts (MW) and feature 15 Vestas V47 turbines, enough to power nearly 10,000 households, according to the company.
O&M responsibilities at the Irish sites will be delivered through Galetech’s subsidiary Optinergy, which will provide 24/7 remote monitoring, rapid-response field servicing, and performance optimisation using data analytics.
In the UK, Galetech’s Northampton-based subsidiary Adamas Wind has secured its first full-scope O&M contract since joining the Galetech platform. The agreement covers Eurowind Energy’s Howpark wind farm, an 8-turbine site with a total capacity of 16MW, located in the Scottish Borders.
Adamas Wind will provide round-the-clock monitoring, call-out support, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, blade inspections, and spare parts management. The company also plans to establish a new service base in Scotland as part of the contract, a move expected to generate skilled local employment and bolster its UK footprint.
“These contract awards demonstrate the strength of our integrated O&M offering in Galetech Operations and the confidence which leading asset owners have in our team,” said Rob Payne, commercial director of Galetech Group. “Securing Statkraft’s Irish sites and Eurowind Energy’s Howpark wind farm is a significant step forward in that journey.”
Clare Walters, country manager at Eurowind Energy, added: “We’re pleased to partner with Adamas Wind as the full-scope O&M provider for Howpark wind farm. Their team’s extensive experience in wind farm operations gives us confidence in the long-term performance and reliability of the site.”
Galetech Operations was established in 2024, bringing together six specialist subsidiaries: Optinergy, Optigear, Adamas Wind, Galetech Inspections, OpsControl, and Blade Tech Services. The group is part of the Galetech Group and employs over 130 people across its renewable energy services and development businesses.
