Global Wind Service (GWS) has named Rasmus Ravn as its new chief operating officer, effective 1 August, as the company aims to strengthen day-to-day operations and support its international growth strategy in the wind energy sector.
Ravn joins GWS after a 17-year career at Vestas, where he held several senior roles, most recently serving as head of onshore construction for Northern and Western Europe. He brings extensive experience in managing large-scale onshore and offshore wind projects and leading global and regional teams.
I’m genuinely motivated by the opportunity to be part of Global Wind Service’s ambitious growth plans,” Ravn said. “I’m eager to support the company’s development by driving improvements in customer satisfaction through operational, commercial, and cultural alignment.
GWS said the appointment underlines its commitment to operational excellence and further expansion across international markets for wind turbine installation and maintenance.
Chief executive Michael Hoj Olsen said Ravn’s background makes him well suited to support the company’s strategic objectives. “Rasmus’s extensive experience in the wind industry, combined with his strong leadership and strategic vision, makes him the perfect fit to help GWS scale operations, enhance efficiency, and consistently deliver outstanding results,” he said.
The company added that Ravn’s appointment would reinforce its leadership team as it continues to build its role as a key service partner to major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the global wind energy market.
