Bernhard Schulte Offshore (BSO) has taken delivery of its new Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV), Windea Curie, from Ulstein Verft ahead of its deployment on charter to offshore grid operator TenneT, the company said on Thursday.
The 89.6-metre vessel is designed to support TenneT’s offshore transmission platforms in the North Sea, providing safe and efficient access for maintenance and commissioning crews.
“Our new ‘Windea Curie’ is an excellent addition to our offshore fleet,” said Matthias Müller, managing director of BSO.
The vessel incorporates Ulstein’s TWIN X-STERN design, hybrid battery propulsion, and methanol-ready systems aimed at reducing fuel consumption and improving stability at sea.
Erik Hiensch of TenneT said: “This state-of-the-art CSOV will play an important role in supporting our operations in the North Sea.”
Equipped with a walk-to-work gangway, 3D compensated crane, and accommodation for up to 132 personnel, the Windea Curie is built to enhance operational efficiency and crew safety.
A sister vessel is currently under construction at Ulstein, with delivery expected in August 2025, which will bring BSO’s offshore service vessel fleet to five.
