Vestas is investigating a blade failure that occurred on June 24 at the Lübbenow 3 wind farm in Brandenburg, Germany, the company confirmed on Thursday.
The incident took place at the two-turbine site near Karlstein, which is operated by German renewables developer Notus Energy. The wind farm consists of two Vestas V150-4.2MW turbines, each with a 123-metre hub height, and has been operational since 2019.
“All plant and personnel were safe and accounted for, the site has been secured, and there were no injuries,” a Vestas spokesperson said.
The company stated it is working closely with the customer to identify the root cause of the failure and determine appropriate next steps.
Notus Energy declined to comment on the incident.
