Goldbeck Solar has commenced construction of the 48-megawatt-peak (MWp) Perrinpit Road Solar Farm in Bristol, in partnership with Octopus Energy Generation. The project is expected to generate clean electricity for more than 12,900 homes annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 6,096 tonnes per year.
The Perrinpit development marks Goldbeck Solar’s fourth largest project in the United Kingdom since its return to the market in 2022. The company has emphasized environmental stewardship during the construction and operational phases.
“Sustainability and biodiversity protection are key elements of the project,” the company said in a statement. Measures to limit environmental disruption include construction scheduling that avoids bird breeding seasons, as well as post-construction landscaping such as green area seeding and tree planting aimed at restoring local habitats.
“With the Perrinpit Road solar farm, we demonstrate that sustainable energy production and environmental protection can go hand in hand,” said Tobias Schüßler, Chief Operating Officer at Goldbeck Solar. “Despite the complex geographical conditions, our approach is based on careful planning and innovative solutions to ensure successful implementation.
The project is scheduled to be completed by April 2026.
