Trinasolar has delivered 52,000 of its high-efficiency Vertex N 710–715W modules to the Limbauan Solar Power Project (LSPP) in San Pablo, Isabela, the company said on Monday. The 40-megawatt direct current (MWdc) facility is being developed by BKS Green Energy Corporation, a unit of Rizal Green Energy Corporation — a joint venture between PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) and Japan’s TAISEI Corporation.
Expected to generate approximately 59 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually, the project could supply power to roughly 33,000 households and avoid around 31,700 metric tons of carbon emissions per year. It is divided into two phases: a 6 MWdc Phase 1 connected to Isabela Electric Cooperative-II, and a 34 MWdc Phase 2 that will link to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ Tuguegarao-Cabagan 69 kV line via a 4.73-kilometer dedicated transmission system.
Trinasolar said it is not only supplying its n-type i-TOPCon modules but also supporting workforce development through local training initiatives. The project is expected to employ 500 to 600 workers during peak construction, contributing to economic growth in the Cagayan Valley region.
“We are thrilled to officially begin the installation of LSPP’s PV panels in the presence of our various stakeholders – private and public – especially local government officials of our host communities who are strong supporters of PetroGreen’s first investment in Region 2,” said Maria Victoria M. Olivar, Vice President for Business Development and Commercial Operations at PGEC.
In a message delivered by Atty. Angelynn C. Salazar, Isabela Governor Rodolfo T. Albano III said, “The project also serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when government, private sectors, and local communities work together toward a common goal.”
Elva Wang, Trinasolar’s Group Director for Southeast Asia, added: “By integrating our Vertex N 720W modules, featuring cutting-edge n-type i-TOPCon technology, into the Limbauan Solar Power Project, we are delivering exceptional efficiency and energy output. We remain committed to supporting PetroGreen in accelerating the adoption of clean energy solutions across the nation.”
