Qualitas Energy has acquired four wind farms in Germany as part of its ongoing efforts to repower and expand its renewable energy portfolio. The wind farms, located in Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Saxony-Anhalt, currently have a combined capacity of 10MW. Following repowering, their total capacity is set to increase to 34MW.
This repowering effort is part of a broader strategy by Qualitas Energy, which has also announced other projects aimed at enhancing its wind energy capacity. Recently, the company acquired a wind farm with 32 turbines on the German North Sea coast, which will reach a capacity of 21.6MW after repowering.
Johannes Overbeck, Co-CEO of Qualitas Energy Deutschland, said, “With this transaction, we are expanding our wind energy project pipeline and strengthening our commitment to providing innovative energy solutions in close cooperation with local communities. By modernizing older wind farms, we are not only increasing energy efficiency, but also making a long-term contribution to security of supply and a sustainable energy supply for future wind farms.”
Qualitas Energy's initiative reflects the company's focus on upgrading existing infrastructure to enhance energy production and contribute to Germany's renewable energy goals.
