Acciona Energia has completed the sale of a 626MW hydroelectric portfolio in Spain to Endesa, following the receipt of the necessary authorizations. The transaction, valued at approximately €1 billion, includes 34 hydroelectric plants located across the regions of Aragon, Soria, Valencia, and Navarra.
The sold assets feature a mix of reservoir (56% of capacity), flowing (30% of capacity), and pumping (14% of capacity) plants, with an annual production capacity of around 1.3 terawatt-hours (TWh). The facilities are covered by long-term concession agreements with an average remaining life of approximately 30 years.
This sale is part of Acciona Energia’s ongoing asset rotation strategy, aimed at optimizing its portfolio and underscoring the value and strength of its assets in the market.
