Eku Energy has successfully energized two new battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the United Kingdom, with a combined capacity of 68MW. The newly commissioned assets include the 40MW/55MWh Loudwater BESS in Buckinghamshire and the 28MW/56MWh Basildon BESS in Essex, both located in the south-east of England.
Commissioning of these projects is expected to take place shortly. The addition of these two facilities expands Eku Energy’s portfolio, which now includes a total of seven assets either in construction or operation globally. This includes the 40MW/40MWh Maldon BESS, which was commissioned in September 2024.
In total, Eku Energy’s development pipeline includes more than 50 projects across multiple countries, including the UK, Australia, and Japan.
Eku Energy is jointly owned by a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management and the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI).
